AUT scholarship reaches milestone

The longest running scholarship
at AUT has just reached
a milestone of 25 years. The scholarship helps pay university study costs for students
from Northland. Te Okiwa McLean caught up
with past recipients who say the scholarships
played a huge part in their success. One who partakes in the power of
knowledge has access to the world. Haitana was the first recipient
of the AUT McDonald’s scholarship and the first recipient to graduate. The value of each award
is $10,000.00 and given to five recipients
each year. According to this recipient
from 2001, this scholarship
opened her eyes to the world. So the scholarship has reached
a milestone of 25 years but the big question is what does it have to offer 25 years
ahead from now? It’s a true testament
to the saying, traverse pathways of learning
to acquire knowledge and wisdom. Te Okiwa McLean, Te Karere.
