BSU President Praises Walz’s Higher Education Proposal


LAWMAKERS ARE SCHEDULED TO CONVENE THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH. >>>MEANWHILE MINNESOTA GOVERNOR TIM WALZ RELEASED HIS HIGHER EDUCATION BONDING PROPOSAL FOR THE 2020 LEGISLATIVE SESSION TODAY. IT INCLUDES 142.5 MILLION DOLLARS FOR ASSET PRESERVATION AND 121.2 MILLION FOR CAPITAL BONDING PROJECTS AT THE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES OF MINNESOTA STATE. BSU PRESIDENT DOCTOR FAITH HENSRUD RELEASED A STATEMENT TODAY THANKING THE GOVERNOR FOR HIS SUPPORT OF HIGHER EDUCATION. HENSRUD SAID IN HER STATEMENT THAT LIKE ALL CAMPUSES IN MINNESOTA, BOTH BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY AND NORTHWEST TECHNICAL COLLEGE HAVE AGING FACILITIES WHICH WILL BENEFIT TREMENDOUSLY FROM REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE FUNDED BY THE GOVERNOR’S PROPOSED 142.5 MILLION DOLLARS FOR ASSET PRESERVATION THROUGHOUT THE SYSTEM.
