>>Hello my name is Cassandra Tomsha and
I was in the HiSET program attained my HiSET in January and now I am completing
the BIW (Business Information Worker) program. My children all graduated from high school and now I
will be graduating from high school on June 1st. Being awarded with this
scholarship means the world to me. It’s gonna relieve some of the pressures. I
will be going to City College this Fall. There’s nothing standing in my way.
I had felt that I wanted to go to college. I really was hoping that was the
direction that I was going. I was hoping that this wasn’t the end of my journey
with school, and then I got the call that said that I was being awarded a
scholarship. I cried and I rejoiced, that I get to go to college. I am now a college
student. This is my daughter Sophie, she’s 14 years old and she’s the youngest of seven. She’s our last one at home and as she would say, I saved the best for last.
>>She did. I am also so so so proud of my mom she is like my complete inspiration.
Every time I go to school, and I’m like I don’t want to do this, I just think about
how hard my mom has worked just to get her diploma, and I am like you know what
I can do this I can work through the day and deal with all my issues because
she’s gone through so much more.>>I’m so incredibly proud of her she is truly the
inspiration of my life, and the love of my life you
