So our next project is going to be
focusing on doing the first nationwide survey of chief diversity officers.
There’s a lot of concern that the chief diversity officers position is not being
as effective and so Yomi actually piloted the design of the survey and
it’s so excellent that I didn’t really have to do much to change it. Being able to work on research with a
professor at a university like Northwestern is really unparalleled and
I couldn’t receive that anywhere else. Working with you me and Diamond over the past six months, seven months has been fantastic. And they’ve been just as
strong contributors as my graduate students and undergraduates on the team. This program has really made me appreciate research more and understand
why research is so critical to learning about our world, and how we interact with
each other. Now that I’ve learned how the research process works I think I’m
definitely interested in pursuing some sort of career or working in it some time in the future because I think it’s really nice how you can ask
questions and find answers to them in college research. And so I definitely be
interested in pursuing that. Faculty members at Northwestern should really
consider joining the ASM program. I can think of no better use of my time than
to train and mentor CPS students and how to be critical thinkers and good writers
and good researchers.
