Duck Tape® Stuck at Prom® Scholarship Contest 2015


Last year, 284 students
entered the Duck Tape Stuck At Prom Scholarship
Contest, an event that has been going strong for 15 years. In that time, over 7,700
teens have entered the contest and have been inspired to
show off their own unique Duck Tape designs for the prom. Over the years, the palette
of Duck Tape rolls available for their outfits has grown from just a
handful of choices to over 250 colors, designs, and licenses. 2014 contestants used an average
of 24 rolls for their outfits, bringing in a total of
3,408 rolls used last year. Over 92,000 rolls have
been used to create Stuck At Prom outfits over the
life of the contest so far. It takes each couple an average of
100 hours to create their outfits. That’s 386,650 hours of Stuck At Prom
crafting over the entire 15 years, or 16,110 days, or a collective
44 years of crafting. Students from all 50 states
and six Canadian provinces have entered the Stuck At Prom contest. Last year, California had
the most entrants, with 11. Runners-up were
Pennsylvania and Michigan. And there have been over 500,000
votes cast over the years. To date, more than $300,000
in scholarship money has been awarded through the
Stuck At Prom Scholarship Contest. This year, more than $50,000 in
scholarship money is up for grabs. The Duck Tape Stuck at Prom Scholarship
