The Classwork page is your home-base for class
content and assignments. Click on Classwork to get started. To add a question you wish students to reply
to, click the Create button and choose Question. Enter your question. Student responses can be short answer or multiple
choice. If you select MC (don’t) you decide if students
can see a summary of how many students selected each option. If you keep the short answer default, you
will need to decide if students can reply to each other’s posts and whether students
can edit their responses after they post them. If you are using the gradebook in Google classroom,
you can choose one of the categories you established when you set up your gradebook. Enter points, a due date, and select the relevant
topic if you want this question in one of your topic folders. Attach any relevant items if applicable and
then either click Ask to pose the question immediately or use the drop down menu to Save
or Schedule it for later posting. Here’s the student view of my question. The student clicks on the item and then view
question, which brings either the MC options if you opted to create a MC question or a
place to type a short answer. After posting, the student clicks Turn in. the option to See classmate answers appears. From this screen, students can reply to one
another if you’ve enabled that setting. From your teacher screen, you will be able
to see how many students have and have not answered the question. The cumulative discussion is visible and you
can click on student names in the list to display individual responses. Student scores are entered in the left window. You can delete . Student submitted answers
are displayed for you in list form for easy viewing. IF necessary, you can delete student replies
or Mute students, Muted students can still submit work and reply to the questions you
pose but they cannot reply, to others. You can also mute students on your Classroom
students tab. Enter grade for each student in the left panel. Students will be able to see their scores
once you hit the Return button. And these scores automatically flow into the
gradebook as well. The Question feature is a quick and easy great
way to add an interactive formative assessment element to your Google Classroom.
