Apply to Waterloo Graduate Studies in two easy steps. The first step is to complete your online
application through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre Here you’ll create an account and log in. Once you’re logged in, you’ll select your
program and enter all your application information. Your referees will be emailed within two to three business days after you complete this step. So, remember to contact your referees
before you apply to confirm their availability. When you’ve entered all your information,
you’ll pay the application fee. Step 1 complete! In two to three business days you’ll receive
an email with your 8-digit Waterloo ID number. Once you receive that email from us, the second
step in applying is uploading your supporting documents using Quest. To upload your documents,
you’ll first use your 8-digit Waterloo ID number to activate your University of Waterloo
account through our WatIAM identity management system. Then, you’ll use your WatIAM userid and
password to log into Quest. You can log into Quest to upload your documents using a desktop
computer or mobile device. Once you’re logged in you’ll see a list
of documents that you need to upload or complete based on your program.
Once you’ve submitted all of your required documents and your references have submitted
their forms, your application is complete and ready for review.
A few tips before you apply: Your referees have two weeks to complete the
reference form, so you should complete the first step of the application process at least
two weeks before the published application deadline.
