Mujeeb – 2017 Scholarship Recipient

My name is Mujeeb, and this is my second year. I’m an accounting student, and this is my
first year that I’m receiving a scholarship. I came to the United States on May 2015 as
an immigrant refugee. And one thing which I experienced living in
the United States, especially education system, is really expensive. So without being helped from scholarship,
getting the scholarship, it is impossible for us to go to our goals and achieve our
goal. I guess this scholarship specifically helped
me with getting my books, getting my school supplies, so I guess personally it really
helped me in my academic progress, what I have to do next. So, I would like to say thank you for this
scholarship and opportunities that provide, and that is really helpful. Before I didn’t know that there’s a opportunities
like scholarship, so I went to the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. There’s a student staff, his name is Abdul. He just share his experience and his talk
with me that here’s a really great opportunity, it’s like I can save free money for college,
so try to use that. So I went there, and I just talk with him,
and we made an application, and we submit, and a good thing that I receive my scholarship. Education is really important for each individual
in order to serve and have a better life. But, as I mentioned for especially immigrant
and domestic student that are low income family, without receiving financial aid and without
receiving a scholarship, it is going to be a very big challenge for them. So, I’m really grateful and I would like to
say thank you so much for providing this scholarship that’s really helpful, and especially for
me, it helped me with my academic progress.
