I initially wanted to be a PA until I took that patient care tech jobs and that just made me want to be a nurse after seeing other nurses and what they do and how gratifying their job was it maybe start (looking) wanted to look into nursing and so that’s how I end up here I also work with a lot of grad from this program here and they had nothing but good things to say about the program and that just persuaded me to look into it and I just saw a lot of good things like nothing negative came from it. I want to be a CRNA so i hope to come back to MUSC and just pursue that goal but for now I think I’m going to just work either in med-surge or the ICU because i really want that patient experience that I want to work bedside first. I have a eight-month-old daughter her name is Breland and I kind of struggle with trying to figure out like I wanted to balance my finances like as far as living on loans or like how it was going to provide for my daughter and go to nursing school? So that kind of took some stress off of me and like and relieved me a little bit to just know that i had financial support and I that’s one thing that I didn’t have to think about. I feel like donors should support nursing students because there’s going to be upcoming shortage of nurses and the more nurses we get in, the more positions we can replace and there’s also a lot of sick people so you want to be able to meet the needs of those people. I also think you should donate because the people with backgrounds like me, nursing students with children or any other struggles or anything they might have liked that really really helps.
