Student Login and Profile Setup


hello students and welcome to the
Foothill College starfish training video brought to you by the Owl Scholars
Program in the counseling division this video will show you how to log into
starfish set up your profile navigate the system and explain how starfish can
be used to help you the student so first off we want to start by logging into
your my portal account on the foothill.edu websites once you log into
the web store my portal account log click on the students tab and once
you’re on your students tab scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen once
you get to the bottom of the screen you will see a blue starfish icon such as
this once if once you see that click on it you know will get sent to your
starfish page a quick note some students may be directed to this openccc page if
this occurs you will need to click on the create new account’ link and follow
the directions to create a new account the account you used to apply to
Foothill will not work and you will need to complete the new account two
important things to highlight you do not when creating a new account you do not
need to provide your social security number well on the first page there is a
box at the bottom that you can select to not provide to choose not to provide a
social security number and second you do not need to complete another application
to Foothill you just need to go through the process of creating a new account so
once you have logged into your starfish profile this is the first Welcome page
that you will see so we can see here that we have three options the make an
appointment feature the customize your profile option and the visit thea
success Network I will be discussing what thisis the success Network and the
and make an appointment feature are shortly but first we want to get to
customizing your profile to start that process click on the upload a photo
button here it will take you to your profile page here you can choose to
upload a photo if you so choose you’ll see certain information has already been
locked into place like your login information you will notice will be your
cwid your institutional email will be whatever email you put on your account
when you apply to Foothill you can also elect to have an alternate email as well
you’ll say all notifications will be sent to your institutional email but you
can also check this box to see if you want to send it to your your alternate
email as well it will also list any phone numbers that you put in with your
application to Foothill here the time zone is one thing that we do want to
change by default it will be the eastern time zone so you want to go ahead and
change that to the Pacific time those that effect kind of appointment
scheduling here you can also check to see check a box get a weekly update
about your success Network and you can also have email reminders when you start
booking appointments with instructors and support services on campus you can
choose to get an email reminding you of that appointment so long as you remember
to change your time zone to Pacific time click Submit and your data will be saved
so from here we want to go to the home page
