BRAD: UNI’s Panther Scholarship Club recently revealed “Support The Panthers dot com” as the central site for information on new capital projects, giving information, and details about fun Panther events. Eric Braley checks in with PSC director Nathan Christensen to find out what fans should have on their radar. The Panther Scholarship Club serves as the fundraising arm for the UNI Athletic department and strives to create a rich tradition by providing the opportunity for every student athlete to succeed in the classroom and in competition. The PSC is looking for another record breaking year. Exciting stuff going on in the department right now with the PSC end of October we have reached 1.45 million which is our 2nd highest total ever. Last year was a record breaking year for us reaching 1.52 million. Our goal this year is 1.65 million so we have some work to do but still an opportunity to get involved and support our student athletes. Mark your calendars for the 15th annual Women at Play event on January 19 This year is a special year for us as we celebrate 50 years of women’s athletics here at UNI so we have a great program in store for people and obviously all that goes toward scholarships as well. A great event that PSC puts on to support women’s athletics and especially this year celebrating the 50 years. There are many reasons to support UNI athletics. Consider donating before the end of the year to help the PSC reach their ambitious fundraising goal. It supports all of our 400+ students here at UNI and all of our programs so it is a great opportunity to support our students and get involved with UNI and the athletic department and help us achieve our goals. We have lofty goals in the next 5 years with the Panthers rising so we are certainly excited about that but it is a cool thing to be connectedand give back. The Cedar Valley is very lucky to have a program like UNI athletics and the University and it is just a great opportunity. BRAD: We’re only halfway through this fresh-looking Panther Sports Talk.
